Happy Little Stampers CAS December Challenge!

Time for another HLS CAS challenge for you, the last of the year and the last for me :(.  It's been wonderful working with Kylie and the other gals but I'm paring down activities to recapture time elsewhere.  I'll miss you all!

For this challenge we're asking that you pick your favorite technique or product you used from the past eleven HLS CAS Challenges.  Please share why it's your favorite or any tips you learned while doing it.  A full list of those challenges is over on the main challenge post.

I chose watercolor spritz using Distress Markers directly colored onto the rubber stamp. It's such an easy technique and one where you really never know what you're going to get.  I had to try a few times to figure out how much water to spritz (not a lot but not too little either--argh!) and found the MISTI invaluable in enabling me to color the parts in layers and re-stamp precisely.

The Details:  Hero Arts Very Merry Christmas, Penny Black Cones & Berries cling stamp, Distress Markers, VersaFine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Watercolor paper, Zig (for the blue background)

Have a Magical Season

I colored up these cute fairies over the past few weeks (seriously) and finally had a moment to put together a card.  I should be able to make a couple-three more cards out of what I colored so that will be coming up. I don't know that they'll be shakers tho but this one turned out so well, I might just have to suck it up and head out to buy more foam. The dimension and glittery bits will make this one very hard to give away!

I'm entering this in 52 Christmas Card Throwdown Glitter, TIME OUT #71 Christmas with Optional Glitter/Shimmer, Mod Squad Holiday Dimension, Naughty or Nice #34 A Christmas Carol or Frozen

The Details:  Lawn Fawn Frosty Fairy Friends, Ranger Multi Medium Matte, Clear Wink of Stella, Simon Says Stitched Whirl Background and Birch Tree Window dies, Stampendous Multi Crystal Glitter Mix, Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins, Copics, Judikins Embossable Window Plastic, VersaFine Onyx Black

Stamplorations CAS December Challenge!

A new Stamplorations CAS challenge has begun, the last of the year!   The optional colors are red and green--natch.   I do hope you'll find a moment in the midst of the holidays to join in!

I stamped the mittens from the Stamplorations Warm Hands, Warm Hearts set and colored them with Copics.  I then diecut the sentiment and popped it up.

I love that Stamplorations has released holiday dies--and amazing ones at that.  The CUTplorations Let It Snow die used here, for instance, is the perfect size and the perfect sturdiness to pop up in the midst of those mittens.  I cannot tell you how frustrated I get with dies that have really flimsy connections between the letters--that's so not the kind of die for me.  This one is still scripty but able to take some handling--a good thing for this clumsy gal!

The Details:  Stamplorations Warm Hands, Warm Hearts and Trendy Christmas Trees (snowflake), CUTplorations Let It Snow, Copics R22, R24, R27, R29, R39, YG00, YG03, YG17, Simon Says stitched rectangle die, Memory Box cardstock base, Memento Tuxedo Black

House of Cards December Challenge

Hello and welcome to the House of Cards Bi-Annual Card Hop!  We have a lot of sponsors and even more inspiration for you.  It's the last challenge of the year and for me as a member of the HOC DT.  I'm going to miss my teamies!  Note there's also a DT Call going on so throw your hat in the ring if you're interested in working with a great bunch of people!

I'm using a digital image, Sweet Christmas, from Beccy's Place.  Isn't it fab?  I scaled it up and watercolored it.  Looooove the results.

Be sure to check out the creations of the rest of the DT--amazing as usual!  The list is below.

Stamplorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop

Stamplorations is having a special Giving Thanks Blog Hop with prizes and inspiration out the wazoo!  It runs between now and November 27.  Lots of way to participate and win so be sure to read full details on the main blog--doesn't get better than that!

For my card, I used the Oh, So Grateful and CUTplorations Grateful die.  Seriously love!  The pumpkin is a great size.  I can see lots of possibilities with it beyond the Zigs I used here, can't you? Brushos, adding a jack-o-lantern face, paper-piecing. Squee! The die is super fun too.  Did you notice the stitched edge?  A bit hard to tell in my photo but a great impact irl. The stitching of the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle die is just perfect for this project. A touch of whimsy. Now go get hopping and winning and entering!

The Details:  Stamplorations Oh, So Grateful, CUTplorations Grateful die and Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle dies, Zigs, Versafine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz watercolor paper, Neenah 140lb white cardstock

Well, I'm Be Dammed

Boy, do I have a cute card for you today.  Look at that little guy!

I used the Concord and 9th Take a Bough die, 3 of each size diecut, colored with various brown Copics, to create the dam. That turned out fab. Lots of layers and depth but easily mailed.  I then colored up the beaver and positioned him on top of his makeshift dam. He's so sweet with that heart and cute smile. The Warm Wishes diecut I colored with Copics ombre-fashion (R22-29, 39).

Be sure to stop by The Heart Desires Challenge #6 and join in the fun.  What a great inspiration pic!
